I installed RC1 and everything ran great. One night, in an OC'd fit of, "are my drivers all current? Shortly thereafter when browsing the internet and listening to music on iTunes, I would experience audio crackling and skipping that would then lead to a hard lock. Everything would go dead. No keyboard, no response to resets, the only option is to kill the power and reboot.
Took me a few times of watching the process monitor tool as well as the task manager to figure out what was happening. My audiodg. Once I installed the regular drivers again, no problems popped up. So, just a warning, install one or the other, but creative's newest drivers may cause early adopters some issues.
Use the final gold build. As it could be a vista RC1 issue. I mean is it worth the wait? Have we got a chance to get these drivers one day?

This standard offers noticeably better video quality than MPEG-1, but the files are much bigger--a problem if you're short on disk space or plan to stream video. Still, it's a handy option to have, especially on such a low-priced product. Over a year I had bsod's, screeching. They replace key system files with their own poorly coded garbage and then have the chutzpah to point you at Microsoft when their crap breaks.
We won't even get into a discussion on their poorly designed hardware no thought put into any kind of electronic insulation, transistors everywhere, a dog's breakfast of a PCB.
ONE star. Hello, OK. While working this card produces sounds so terrific you will weap. OK I got suckered and upgraded to Vista, but its been out for two years in beta now. Cant you find us drivers that work? I've been using Creative products for well over a decade, started from Soundblaster 1.
Yet, lately I feel very disappointed on the way Creative is delivering drivers. The very long delays and sometimes very unprofessional bugs make we wonder if I should stay with this company's products. I expect a serious company to fix those things quickly.
