Michael was a member of the University of Pittsburgh Mock Trial Team from until his graduation in and competed at the national level in He was ranked as both a national outstanding attorney and outstanding witness.

He continues to use the skills he learned on the team in his daily practice. Michael has been coaching Pitt Mock Trial since Learn how Pitt Law is building a healthy and resilient community. Inaugurated in , the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Mock Trial Program is coordinated by a group of adjunct mock trial coaches.

The program is the primary means through which the school selects the students who will serve on its Mock Trial Team and compete, at a minimum, at each of three interscholastic competitions taking place during the spring semester:.

The program holds tryouts late in the spring semester for interested 1Ls and 2Ls. Students selected through these open tryouts become members of the Mock Trial Team that then trains with the adjunct coaches on a regular schedule in a course the subsequent academic year.

From among the team members, the coaches will select the groups that will represent the school at each competition. Each team member will serve as an attorney or a witness for at least one competition. Love Trial Moot Court Competition, though scheduling conflicts are possible.
